    Broad arrows

Broad arrows aren't tradeable in OSRS, can't sell them to any shop.
  4. Doesn't take that long to empty out, I removed >10k bars in about an hour. If anything, this balances out the xp/hr for players who had insane rates before the patch.
  5. I don't want to support dropping supplies in the wildy, as it makes there less reason for people to skill and sell their supplies. If prices for things generated by skilling are reasonable, it will encourage people to grind out some of the other content, besides just ironmen.
  6. The main reason I can provide support for this is because it's wilderness content that should further encourage wilderness activity, but isn't simply just trying to force players with no interest in PvP into PvP situations.
  7. @Bunny Well, that checks out. Good shout. Admittedly, the lack of sleep may be impacting my ability to do math effectively. I'll concede on the point that it may be an advantage to those who haven't maxed construction yet as it doesn't appear to be. I still believe we're both on the side of something needing to be done to make construction equally available. I'm still hoping something can be done about the other skills that had methods that were patched, as the half-day+ additional grinds definitely add up.
  8. Not if you get your buckets of sand from the sandstone quarry instead of running between the charter ship and back, since its a couple hundred per inventory @ 500 gp each bucket. Additionally the construction time was much longer for the molten glass method.
  9. It was a publicly available method and not at all unknown. I had seen it discussed many many times in a number of clan chats. At the very least, since Zara released his video, the hundreds of players who have been in his cc and chatting throughout the week knew as well. The insinuation that we used this method and then reported it to the developers relies on it actually being unknown, and it wasn't. Additionally since it wasn't mentioned or disapproved of, or patched in the week after it was used in the 80/50x ironman race means it had the definition of tacit approval. I am 100% for a level playing ground, and since the topic of making adjustments to the meta as a result of a patch mid competition came up, it's only fair to also start a discussion around the other methods that were changed. It really is only fair, after all. Your suggestion that I knowingly abused an unknown mechanic and then reported it to the developers is completely false. I used a method I'd seen discussed many times, under the assumption people were avoiding it solely because of the high intensity required to perform it efficiently over the 16-18 hours it was calculated out to take (supplies and then actually using the materials). I didn't report anything because lots of people already knew and it had the aforementioned tacit approval. A competition was completed with this being a major factor, as I believe the first people to max (Zara, A Moist Nun, and Gnars [i think he was 3rd]) all used this method. Funnily enough, the proposed adjustment actually provides an advantage to the other racers, as it'll be cheaper and faster for them to max construction. If you look back, you'll see that in my initial reply to this thread I said I was an advocate for reimplementing the method. Surely you can't think that waiting nearly a week and then doing something that was talked about all over the place is the hallmark of someone trying to abuse a mechanic and get it removed before the competition can do it. Given the amount of +1s that rapidly came into this thread (which was created rather quickly after the patch), despite the fact that it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, I think it should be proof enough that this was a well known method others just hadn't gotten around to doing. Not doing anything about this, whether its making an additional method or reimplementing the original method, and not doing anything about the other methods that were patched, is only going to further harm the competitive integrity of this race. All this is doing is instilling a fear of missing out in competitors, leading to future methods being more likely to go unreported or unknown, and performed much faster than the nearly week-long delay between becoming public knowledge and subsequent patch.
  10. Are you implying that this was somehow unknown to the developers until two elite ironmen maxed the skill with a method that was live broadcast to well over a hundred people a week prior?
  11. Gnars and Zara did, we just followed the template they laid out, not sure how you can believe we're somehow responsible for exposing something? It was nearly a week after launch (and 140 hours of play time) before we even started. If we thought it was a bug to abuse that was going to be patched, wouldn't we have done it immediately?
  12. I would +1 this, as it would also more closely align the playing field to a level position. I would hope that no-one who's posted singling out construction would be found in opposition of these changes - they have the same merits, after all. Averaging 20+ hours of playtime (which does not include splashing the other 4 when possible) a day - it still took me a full day's worth of high effort focus to get this grind done. Construction is about to be made not only cheaper but also faster -- it only makes sense to extend the courtesy to other players for the other skills.
  13. If this is the case then this bug still exists. They only changed the xp rates. This bug also exists in every aspect of a Player Owned House (as far as I can tell), for example you can upgrade the tools space in the workshop repeatedly as well.
  14. Each and every one of these methods have been known since day 1, and were utilized and publicized by the players racing in the regular Ironman race. Gnars was streaming his efforts, Zara released a video the day after he maxed revealing his methods. Everyone has had a level playing field, and no one has done anything different than what was done by a player that was already paid out. Additionally you're only focusing on the Elite Ironman bracket as it personally affects you, whereas I would argue that Ultimate Ironmen may have been impacted even more so by this, as raw materials take much longer to acquire. Besides them being well known methods, what's to say someone was able to determine something wasn't a legitimately intended method? Do you use actual OSRS as a guide? This is a private server, and we've all seen the insane things servers have done in the name of "QoL" or to be unique. The withdraw option for Blast Furnace stated that Legendary Donors and above could withdraw noted bars, someone could use this being different from OSRS to assume that the development team made the conscious decision to make this a quality of life change. Blast Furnace prices were 1:1 with OSRS (as far as I know, I didn't get 99 smithing). I don't see this as being a reason to punish players. Construction having a different XP rate for the workbenchs could also be seen as the development team providing an alternative to the usual plank making grind. They offer an entire shop for buying herblore secondaries for ironmen, after all. For most players, myself included, I was never told this was a bug and we saw people max in normal ironman. Popular streamers (Gnar's stream often having David in the chat, and even being promoted in-game when he got to inferno) were using these methods and making them public. There shouldn't be any action taken against players who simply followed the lead of people already acknowledged by the developers as legitimately maxing their accounts. I've also heard that beta testers were made aware of these things, and, presumably, reported them. This isn't even a matter of methods being used by only beta testers, as these methods made their way around nearly ever ironman cc. Whether or not you followed the lead of those who maxed before you is simply a matter of priorities, in my opinion. If anything, make the methods available again (and then I can finally max smithing easily). Edited to add: The wall safes in rogue's den being nerfed also impacts players as they have to use the much slower glassblowing method. Should we add this to the list?
  15. Been having a lot of fun in this cc, and I've learned a lot of good methods to use during the race for first maxed elite hardcore ironman.
