Extended List of Game Changing Suggestions

Quality of Life

  • Add the correct sounds to all the weapons and effects - For someone that likes to play with game sounds, not having sounds on some weapons it's annoying. These are, but not limited to:
    • Blowpipe normal attack & Special attack;
    • Dragon Claws Special.
  • Fix the Dragon Hunter Lance running animation - Currently you run as you were using a 2h weapon. DHL has a unique running animation that, in my opinion, suits one of the nice things about owning one, especially Ironmen.
  • Add a placeholder for a completely charged Dragonfire Shield - Something unique to Zaros that would make organizing banks and tabs a lot easier. There isn't a scenario where someone would use the DFS charged attack, making this change something nice for a lot of people. This could also be possible for other weapons/shields.

Trading Post & Economy

  • Add a minimum value for items - This would allow the bank worth to be accurate and give players a idea of how much it's worth.
  • Implement a new shop where people could sell items for the minumum value set for each item. This way players could sell the items for GP, allowing GP to flow through players and allowing them to buy other items from the TP (Items sold to this shop could be erased, helping the overflow of items coming in and no GP coming out).
  • Add a rare drop to every monster of a huge cash stack (something between 5-10M, flexible). This would help the GP flow when PVming.
  • Buy out the entire Trading Post offers that are new (1 week old max) for certain items. This option would give players that have stuck items in there GP, increase the amount of GP in the economy and erase a lot of items. Items to buy out (All items in the list are items that have a lot of offers in the Trading Post):
    • Bandos Chestplate;
    • Bandos Tassets;
    • All godswords;
    • Primordial, Pegasian and Eternal boots;
    • Zenyte Jewelry;
    • Armadyl Chestplate;
    • Armadyl Chainskirt;
    • Armadyl Helmet;
    • Dragon Hunter Lance;
    • Dragon Warhammer;
    • Berserker, Archer's and Seer's Rings;
    • Hydra Leather;
    • Blowpipe;
    • Trident;
    • Serpentine Helm;
    • Magic Fang;
    • Tanzanite Fang;
    • Serpentine Visage;
    • Abyssal Whip;
    • Zamorakian Spear & Hasta;
    • Staff of the Dead (All variants);
    • Dragon Boots;
    • Infinity Boots;
    • Occult Necklace;
    • Zenytes;
    • Barrows Items;
  • Well of Goodwill - Add a way for people to donate for boosts. Mainly works as a money sink, but also like a incentive for people to spend their GP. Higher the amount donated, better the boost. Thresholds and boosts:
    • 15M - 20M - 30M - 40M - 50M - 60M - 70M - 80M - 90M - 100M - 120M - 140M - 160M - 180M - 200M;
      • Bonus XP (1.1x -> 1.5x);
      • Bonus Pearls;
      • Bonus Coin Drops;
      • Bonus Slayer Points;
      • Bonus Slayer Superior Rates;
      • Bonus COX rate (5% -> 10%);
      • Bonus TOB rate (8% - > 15%);
      • Bonus Loot;
      • Bonus Clue Scroll Rolls (Depending on the amount donated, the clue tier increases: 15M -> 30M Easy Clues, 40M - 70M Medium Clues, 80M - 100M Hard Clues, 120M - 160M Elite Clues and 180M - 200M Master Clues);
      • Bonus Pet rate (5% -> 15%).

New Game Mode

  • Create a new game mode where you would have better drop rates. This mode would have access to Normal account, Ironmen Account, Hardcore Ironmen, Ultimate Ironmen and Group Ironmen. Things to note:
    • Create a Trading Post for this new game mode. This would allow players that choose a easier drop table to trade instead of ruinning the old economy;
    • Items dropped by Ironmen accounts would only appear for the new game mode normal accounts;
    • Normal game mode players wouldn't get any loot from killing new game mode players.
  • Drop rates would be significantly better, for people that want to have a easier time getting items. All game modes would have a 15% to 20% chance of having a item.
  • This game mode would give OG game modes a even better feeling of accomplishment when getting items.

TOB Solo Option

  • With the current player count, it's borderline impossible to get teams for TOB. It's even worse when a HCIM wants to do it, but feels like the other players will make something to get him killed. Adding a easier option to solo TOB is something that could make players do it more, and would help people that need to do it solo.
  • With this new mode, some adjustments need to take place:
    • Slightly worse drop rates. Don't make them horrible, maybe a 1% -> 2% nerf;
    • Remove some mechanics that would make solo possible, but still a challenge;
    • Decrease the HP of the bosses and minions;
    • Decrease the attack damage from bosses and minions;
    • Decrease the amount of spawns from Maiden;
    • Decrease the amount of spawns from Nylo. Make it so Nylo only spawns 2 different spider colors instead of 3. Boss remains the same;
    • Decrease the amount of poison pools on Xarpus OR make it a 50% chance of him spawning one;
    • Increase the damage dealt by Dawnbringer OR decrease the shield amount;
    • Decrease the amount of spawns on Verzik;
    • Make Verzik 2 phase only to prevent solos from being long due to the spider damage method.

Wilderness Updates

  • Remove Ancient Caskets;
  • Every hour, 1-2 Billion GP would be hidden somewhere in the wilderness for a set amount of time (Could be hidden in a rock, piles of bones, etc). After the times up, the GP would disappear. Whenever someone finds it, a chat message would pop up so people would have a chance of killing the carrier;
  • Wilderness Slayer keys would have a different drop table for Ironmen. This drop table would include:
    • 100 Raw Anglerfish;
    • 100 Raw Karambwan
    • 100 Raw Sharks;
    • 15 - 30 Prayer Potions;
    • 5- 20 Super Restores;
    • 5 - 20 Saradomin Brews;
    • 50 - 250 Adamant to Dragon Darts;
    • 100 - 300 Adamant to Rune Bolts;
    • 100 - 200 Coal, Adamant and Rune Ores
    • 30 - 60 Dragon Bones
    • 1,000 - 2,000 Essence
    • 1-5 Ranarr, Toadflax, Snapdragon and Torstol seeds and 15 - 30 herbs;
    • 100 - 500 Death, Blood, Astral, Soul, Chaos, Nature Runes;
    • Dragon Pickaxe (1/750);
    • All Malediction Wards (1/150);
    • Dagon'Hai Robes (1/500);
    • 1-2 Custom Items (Maybe)
  • Remove the Teleport to Target spell OR add a way for people to be protected from it:
    • A Scroll that prevents teleports to you;
    • A protection of some sort bought from Slayer Shop/Voting Shop/Donator Shop that lasts a set amount of time.

Other Updates

  • Reword Magic accuracy;
  • Revamp the Wintertodt drop table for uniques;
  • Add more Death, Blood, Soul and Astral runes to shops;
  • Add Master Wand, Mage's Book and Infinity Boots to Crystal Chest (1/750 drop rate for each);
  • Add Crystal Shards to Crystal Chest (6 - 12 Amounts);

In theory it's a good idea, but it'd not work.

Majority of players would simply take this new found money to gamble, and the loss of items would only increase the price of those items in the TP due to lesser supply, and the same problem would persist, the rich gamblers retain most wealth and no items would get sold.

At most it'd be a temporary fix.

 

almost all the other suggestions sound really good though, other than the 2b cash in wildy imo, it's just a different version of the crate, but this would quickly flood game with too much money and that's not a good thing either.

Im sure there's a way to make this work. Either a cap per day/week, or a total amount of items cashed in.

It's not certain someone would find it. It could be hidden in a rock, and the wilderness is huge. This would make people look for it and kill people looking for it.

Best way to fix wilderness is remove bounty hunter system.

Nobody wants to go into wildy to boss who isn't an experienced PvPr 'cos they know somebody will just teleport right ontop of them, it's not worth it.

 

Atleast if you see a dot running at you, you have a chance to escape, this alone would make wildy more active if PvPr had to actual roam to hunt for kills, this in turn would increase the amount of Pvmers in wildy.

 

the 2b is a good theoretical idea but it'd cause more problems than it'd solve in my opinion.

That's not how that works, you would just have literally nobody buying items at a higher price than the ones the "server", which even if implemented would have to be stupidly low to not ruin the economy itself.

The server isn't lacking coins, every has GP, but everyone also has every single good item in their banks already and aren't looking to hoard...

 

  • Every hour, 1-2 Billion GP would be hidden somewhere in the wilderness for a set amount of time (Could be hidden in a rock, piles of bones, etc). After the times up, the GP would disappear. Whenever someone finds it, a chat message would pop up so people would have a chance of killing the carrier;

 

That's so fucking much and you would have what you have with Galvek and the Wilderness Caskets, clans camping every spot with alts.

 

  • Remove the Teleport to Target spell.

 

Wilderness is already dead, if you don't like being directly hunted, follow yourself on an alt at level 1 wilderness until you're your own target and do your wilderness activities.

Most accounts do not have a lot of coins actually. Only ~20 people actually have 1b or more of cash on hand and only about ~80 have 100m or more on hand.

What I fugired just from asking around. What are your thoughts on the rest of the list?

We are planning something to combat the overflow of undersold items and is somewhat similar to your idea, but will also ensure that too much gp doesn't flow into the game at once. It will not involve the trading post. Speaking of the trading post however, I have recently been going through some of the items and removing outrageous or insanely old offers on the trading post to clean it up a bit.

Well of goodwill - been suggested numerous times and is planned in the future, just will take some time to properly plan out.

Great news. There were some offers that aged back to day 1.

I have no clue about what I'm about to ask, but wouldn't it be essencially having the same mode that already exist twice, with the only difference being the drop rates and the exclusive Trading Post?

@Kami Looking over this thread again, I just want to add that dragon claws already has audio for both the normal and special attacks. The special attack however is an "area sound" so make sure you have that on.

Didn't know that!

Since I'm already here, let me ask once again about drop rates. I now this is brought up a lot but it needs some adjustments.

I'm now 62 dry at Chambers. That's 31 hours of being dry. For a private server, that's just not understandable. Even more when you want to complete the log and the chance of getting a purple + mega rare is astronomical.

I know RNG is a thing, but this is really depressing. I saw you guys trying out new DR % on the weekends, and that's good! But it needs more.

Last time we had the 12.5% COX boost, it was useless. I got 3-4K more points than usual, which in the end means 1% increased chance of getting a drop.

Please consider this!
