The following guide will take you though everything you need to know about perks, from what they are and how to obtain them, to what the best perks for the best pets are! *Last update - 29/11/2022* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spoiler Regarding the drop rates of non skilling pets shown here - this is based off the server maximum of 70%, so these rates should be considered the absolute best case, for your personal rate please check your Game Bonus Statistics. See below for the formula used to calculate the drop chance of a skilling pet The BASE rate to receive a skilling pet can be calculated with the following formula: ((110 - nodeLevel) * 300) - (skillLevel * 25) "nodeLevel" is the level of the content you're farming e.x: yew trees are node Level 60 "skillLevel" is your current level of the skill being used Note: This calculated value is the base rate BEFORE any boosts/bonuses are added. To see your current pet rate bonus, you can go to Quest Tab -> Purple Tab -> Scroll down to "Game Bonus Statistics" As well as game bonuses, the "Zookeeper" pet perk also affects this rate Note: Most skilling content uses the above formula, but some exclusions may apply in certain areas of the game. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spoiler To begin your quest to claim all of Zaros's pets, you first need to know what they are, and where to get them. The Spolier window below each pet will show images of each pet and any possible morphs *Some pets have the ability to morph into different forms, this is only cosmetic, but where required it will note the item / task required for morphing* Pet Ratings Pt.1 Each Pet in Zaros is assigned a "rating". This is based off the rarity of the pet, the harder it is to obtain, the higher the rating. Ratings are out of 100. Rating effects how many Pet Perks are able to be rolled onto the pet at the Pet Shrine. Next to each pets name will be its rating. The amount of rollable perks per rating will be covered in the "Pet Shrine" section of this guide. Pet List Lil Zik : 92 Rating Obtained via Raids 2 - Theater of blood as a possible reward once phase 3 of Verzik Vitur dies. *Unlike Olmet, Lil Zik can be obtained without also being rewarded a raid unique, however the rate is dependant on your performance during the rate at the base rate of 1/650. Spoiler Lil Zik Lil Zik has the ability to to morph into the 5 other bosses from the Theater Of Blood by using a Sanguine Dust on it, which is obtained from the rewards casket in HARD mode only raid, at a rate of 1/275. Drop rate of 1/10 when completing full 69 waves. However, like the Fire Cape, the Infernal Cape can be traded in for a roll at the pet. Unlike Lil Zik, Omlet will only be rolled if you ALSO roll a unique item. The more points you have the higher the chance of rolling a unique reward (1% drop rate per 3,500 raid points), however Olmet then rolls at a flat rate of 1/53. Spoiler Omlet Omlet has the ability to to morph into the 5 other bosses from the Chambers Of Xeric by using a Metamorphic Dust on it, which is obtained from the rewards casket in a Challange mode only raid. Unlike the Sanguine Dust however, there is a time restraint to being able to roll for the Metamorphic Dust. If you meet the time requirements, the chance to roll the Metamorphic Dust is a flat rate 1/400 Time requires are below. Down the ladder you will find the Pet Shrine. To use the shrine you must have your pet in your inventory, click the shrine and select the pet you want to interact with. Upon opening the shrine you will be greeted with 3 interfaces. Overview This screen will show your currently activated pet in the top left, the rating in the top right (more on rating below) and the currently active perks on your pet. Perk Pool This screen shows you the list of all of the currently available perks, these are the global perks and can be rolled onto any pet. If you have a pet which has a unique perk, it will be highlighted in yellow. Rolling Perks & Pet Tokens And finally this screen is where you roll the perks onto your pet. To roll perks onto your pet, you are required to use "Pet Tokens". These tokens can be obtained via: *Town board exchange *Voting store *Judge of Yama *Boss Caskets *Enhanced Crystal Keys *Obtaining a pet which you already own will instead give you a random amount of pet tokens between 5-10 and a +20% pet drop rate scroll. Depending on you pets rating you will be able to roll between 3 and 5 perks. The chance of a perk being rolled can be increased by using 2 tokens at once for a +5% bonus, on top of the percentage shown on the left, or 3 tokens for a +15% bonus. You can also purchase a "Pet Shrine Scroll" from the Zaros store, and this can be used as a once off, permanent, payment ( non refundable ) to increase your base rate across all 5 perks by 20%. Using a scroll + and 3 token roll will increase your base chance at rolling a perk by 35%. When rolling for perks the maximum number of available perks will always be rolled unless you have "locked" a perk. If you roll a perk you wish to keep, return to the overview tab and you will see a padlock on the left side of the perks name. Click this to lock this perk in and prevent it being rolled over on future rolls, locking the perks cost Pet Tokens, the amounts are: 1st slot - 5 Tokens 2nd Slot - 10 Tokens 3rd Slot - 15 Tokens 4th Slot - 20 Tokens 5th Slot - 25 Tokens Unlocking a previously locked perk is free, but will not refund the tokens spent. Pet Ratings Pt.2 As noted at the top of this guide, the pet rating effects how many perks you can roll onto your pet. Below is the breakdown of rating vs perk total. This is displayed as the lowest rating possible to achieve the perk quantity listed. 5 Perks 92+ = 5 Perks with a +0% roll 88+ = 5 Perks possible with a +5% token roll 83+ = 5 Perks possible with a +15% roll 75+ = 5 Perks possible with a +15% roll AND a +20% Pet Shrine Scroll 4 Perks 52+ = 4 Perks possible with a +15% roll AND a +20% Pet Shrine Scroll 3 Perks 5+ = 3 Perks possible with a +15% roll AND a +20% Pet Shrine Scroll ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spoiler Global Perks These can be rolled onto any pet in the game. All perks have an equal chance of rolling. Archer Grants a 5% strength bonus to ranged attacks in PvM Bowman Grants a 5% accuracy bonus to ranged attacks in PvM Clue Hunter 5% increase to finding clues while woodcutting, fishing, or mining. Duplicating 5% chance of doubling certain gathered resources while fishing, mining, and woodcutting. Forager Randomly forages items (coins, seeds, herbs, bones) Lightweight Subtracts 10kg from your player's total weight Looting Most enemies have a 1/20 chance to drop an additional piece of loot. Excludes raids and minigames. Lucky 3% Drop Rate Bonus (Does not effect pet rate) Magician Grants a 5% accuracy bonus to magic attacks in PvM Radiant Provides light equivalent to a bullseye lantern Seraph Increases your prayer bonus by +5 Swordsman Gives a 5% accuracy bonus to melee attacks in PvM Treasurer Allows pet to high-alch items for free Warrior Grants a 5% strength bonus to melee attacks in PvM Wealthy Increases amount of coins dropped by 15% Wizard Grants a 5% strength bonus to magic attacks in PvM Zookeeper 5% Pet Rate Bonus Notary 5% chance that resource is noted from mining, woodcutting, and fishing. Stacks with donator benefits. Wise 10% additional experience, up to 5,000,000 total experience gained per day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unique Perks The below perks are unique to the specified pet / pets. When rolled these show up in yellow in the "Roll Perks" tab. The Image above is showing Lil' Zik with its "Raids II Expert" perk rolled into slot 4. Berserker Grants +0.20% Damage, +0.20% Accuracy, and -0.50% Defence for every 1 hitpoint missing (in PvM) Doominion Draca Provides an extra 10% damage against dragons Prince black dragon, Vorki, Ikkle Hydra, Galvek jr, Olmlet Bleed Chance for Acidic Bloodveld to apply the bleed effect to your PvM target Will roll a number between 3-10 (based off NPC HP) and damage the NPC per tick. EG you roll a 10, every tick damage will count down to 0. 10,9,8,7,6...etc Acidic Bloodveld Raids I Expert Extra 10% points earned in the Chambers of Xeric Olmlet Raids II Expert Extra 5% drop rate boost for your team in the Theatre of blood Lil Zik Courageous Your pet can enter the Corporeal Beast cave with you Dark Core Pyromaniac 3% chance of instantly burning all logs of the same type from your inventory while firemaking Phoenix Supernatural Provides an extra 10% damage against undead Vorki, Archpriest Spirit, Guardian Mummy Demonic Provides an extra 10% damage against demons Kril Jr, Skotos, Sire, Doominion Dagannoth Scent Your pet excretes pheromones that prevents Spinolyps from attacking you in the Dagannoth kings lair Dagannoth king pets Detective Upon completing a clue step, 1/15 chance that your bloodhound will sniff its way to the last step Bloodhound Nightcrawler Deal 10% extra damage in areas that require a lightsource Baby mole Disarm You can no longer be disarmed by chaos elemental or chaos fanatic Chaos ele jr Soulless Reduces prayer drain by half from the three summoned souls at Cerberus Cerberus Nimble Increases fishing catch rate by 10% Heron Handyman Acts as a hammer and saw in most areas of the game besides Chambers of Xeric Baba yaga, smithers Trapper Increases the maximum hunter traps allowed by +1 Baby grey chinchompa Runic 20% chance to double runes obtained from Runecrafting altars excluding ZMI and Roccos Ruins Rune guardian Cluster Makes Sarachnis drop x2 the amount of egg sacs as normal Sraracha Tempest Within Tempoross, water buckets no longer deplete and tools don't get washed away by waves. All pets recieved are automatically insured 🙂 If lost you still need to pay the reclaim fee each time, no theres no fear of loosing a pet due to forgetting to insure it. ** Zaros's custom pets ** Unlike OSRS however, Zaros has many custom pets which are not avaliable in OSRS and these specific pets do not require pet insurance at all, they are never lost in any unsafe death, inc wildy content.
