Fast
Add an NPC that gives the ability to quit gambling, have timeframes you could pick. Such as quit gambling for one day, one week, one month, or forever. Some may say that it is in the users control to not gamble and that they should refrain themselves. This is true, but at the end of the day they will just keep gambling until they lose their bank. The necessity for a gambling NPC comes into play because many players will gamble, go up big, then end up getting cleaned. Then they will either restart the grind or quit. The gambling NPC can prevent players from quitting the server after losing bank.

Nike Elite
People need to learn self control. You don't walk into a casino and ask them to kick you out at a specific time or tell you to leave if you go up a certain amount. It's basic self control that people need to learn... No NPC or rules in place will stop someone from finding a way to gamble if they can't control their impulses overall. There's no need to spend time trying to find a solution to something that has no "correct" answer. Learn to manage impulse control. Simple. Agreed with this, there will never be a way to stop gambling. There are so many forms and ways for players to gamble that it is a huge part of RuneScape. When you think back if you've ever gambled and gotten cleaned, yes you may quit for some time but if you enjoyed the Server or RuneScape account you played on you would return and more than likely grind it again or put money into that account to restart. Gambling also brings in donations as well. I couldn't agree more with Elite.

I somewhat agree, but after you've had a couple drinks or a smoke, self control is a lot less common and thats where the NPC would be useful "By virtue of exchange, one man's prosperity is beneficial to all others." – Frédéric Bastiat
Sassafras
Can't protect players from themselves. Even with your suggestion in place, if they're that addicted to gambling then they would find ways around it. Fully agree if they don’t have self control than a gambling npc will be no use tbh
Surly
Another vote for self control. If someone is dealing with gambling addiction they need a human, not an NPC to talk to. IGN - Brandon/Surly

Krigeris
100% support this, I hate how gambling oriented this game becomes for some people. Even if its a simple message that could be avoided by using an alt, it would still remind some people that they decided "its time to take a break". I've seen at least 5 other servers have a gambling cool down npc/option, and honestly with the sweats I've seen on servers with no self control, you should add it. Edit; This also helps the people who get cleaned, make a little money get cleaned, make a little money, get cleaned. Cause eventually they will just quit, however with the option to "opt" out of gambling, they might do that and continue to play. Ancient Mage
I disagree, very much like PvP, gambling is pretty much a free for all in terms of risk. You will almost certainly lose eventually. There is no need to automate or restrict a process that inevitably costs you money to participate in. Dixie
I appreciate where your head is, but this is a ridiculous suggestion in my opinion. ANYONE has the ability to get caught up in the moment and make bank or lose it all. That’s gambling. If someone doesn’t have the self control to prevent this, then so be it. The game shouldn’t be providing rehab services for people, haha.
Cal
Literally if you can't stop yourself from gambling on a rsps you deserved to be cleaned simple as
Childish
I honestly think an NPC wouldn't be helpful. If you like to gamble and have the urge to, you would find a work around. For example, if the NPC capped you at a certain limit each day, what's to stop you from using an alt account for a new cap? I hate the idea of gambling, would be nice to see not much gambling going on.
Leaned
In all honesty this would change nothing, if people truly have a gambling addiction they will find a way around it regardless.
Perfection
I think that an NPC to act as a middle man is not a bad idea, because it removes the need to have trusted middlemen.

Unfortunately, as @Setup said above, this would also take out the gambling community a bit as trusted middle man is an important rank to hold in gambling communities 😛
