Forum Suggestions

Here are a list of forum ideas that have crossed my mind since I commenced lurking Zaros' forum several months ago. I understand that the development team are currently tired, busy, and have higher priorities, so I am aware that the listed forum ideas below will not receive attention any time soon. I am more so suggesting these now before I forget about them.

• Integrate a Goals and Achievements section to the Community category - could be integrated as a main section or integrated as a sub-section under the General Discussion section. I am cognizant the game has not yet launched, but I am sure there are players within Zaros' community who would like to establish a goals and achievements thread or some kind of adventure's log prior to the game's launch.
Add an Off-Topic/Lounge section to the Miscellaneous category for topics that are more serious, meaningful, and that are not spam-worthy.
Integrate a Forum Games sub-section under the Spam section. Active forum users like myself intend to enjoy taking part in forum games.
Abstract the who has viewed your thread widget. It does not function felicitously. I am sure it can be fine-tuned, but I am not too fond of other players kenning what I have read and have not read. I have been in countless communities and forums (RuneScape Private Server related and non-RuneScape Private Server related), and I have been in situations where one would contact you in regards to a thread they have posted - they see that you read it without leaving a response, and they would bother you/question you as to why you did not respond to their thread. This is more of an occurrence for members of staff, and it does become vexing over time.
If possible, make threads in the Introductions section automatically close after 72 hours (3 days). This is to decrease the amount of low quality posts or repetitive posts after the author of an introduction has been formally welcomed to Zaros.
Add a staff online widget to the right-side of the forum.
More moderation on the forum. I see things get out of hand throughout the forum on a daily basis. Spam, one-word posting, gravedigging, and post count hunting have become a major issue throughout Zaros' forum as of recently, and in my opinion, it has made Zaros' forum look cluttered and an absolute mess.

I love all of these suggestions, especially the Goals and Achievements one.
I've personally never been a huge fan of creating videos, as a forum thread is easier to keep track of for me personally.

Hopefully at least that gets implemented. ?

Definitely alot of spam and gravedigging going on!

100% needs to be more moderation on the forums, as I haven't seen much since I've joined. Its just as important as in-game moderation!

Good suggestions Wat, thanks for these.

Agree with all these suggestions.

So that I don't forget, and not to make a separate post, I also feel like fine-tuning the unread content section to exclude things like beta apps would be nice so forum users can see new meaningful posts and not have to scroll through like 20 beta apps before finding a new post.

I thought of that, but the section will be archived/hidden once the game has launched anyhow.
