Zik My Zuk
Gauntlet gets really tedious fast, especially the prep. My idea slightly alleviates the suffering that occurs during the mindless prep before the final boss. Regular Gauntlet: -1/10 drop rate to Receive a Crystalline Core which can be used to dive straight into the regular gauntlet ready to fight the final boss, thus eliminating the prep part for that specific run. The core is used up in the process. -Upon entering the gauntlet with the core in the inventory, you will spawn outside the final boss room in the main room where the starting utilities are located. The timer ticks down from 20 seconds so you have some time to prepare/adjust your inventory. You can also go in instantly or before this timer is fully depleted should you wish to do so. -The player will be equipped with a random armour tier from t1-t3. Each armour slot (head, body legs) will roll 1-3, where the outcome will determine their respective tier in that slot. The player will also be equipped with any of the weapons in tier 3. In the inventory, the player will have either a t2 or t3 wep of a combat style they do not currently have. E.g. if spawned with t3 staff, inventory can only contain t2/t3 bow/halberd. The player will also spawn with 2-3 egniol potions (random),16-24 paddlefish (random) and 1 teleport crystal. Corrupted Gauntlet: -1/10 drop rate to Receive a Corrupted Core which can be used to dive straight into the corrupted gauntlet ready to fight the final boss, thus eliminating the prep part for that specific run. The core is used up in the process. -Upon entering the corrupted gauntlet with the core in the inventory, you will spawn outside the final boss room in the main room where the starting utilities are located. The timer ticks down from 20 seconds so you have some time to prepare/adjust your inventory. You can also go in instantly or before this timer is fully depleted should you wish to do so. -The player will be equipped with a random armour tier from t1-t2. Each armour slot (head, body legs) will roll 1-2, where the outcome will determine their respective tier in that slot. The player will also be equipped with any of the weapons in tier 3. In the inventory, the player will have either a t2 or t3 wep of a combat style they do not currently have. E.g. if spawned with t3 staff, inventory can only contain t2/t3 bow/halberd. The player will also spawn with 2-3 egniol potions (random), 16-24 paddlefish (random) and 1 teleport crystal. With this idea, we can eliminate prep which can be tedious in the long run and deter people from doing the content. Furthermore, the items you receive will be a random tier and the supplies you will be spawned with will also be random. This means that if you have a t3 wep and a t2 wep, you will be more pressured into doing the 5:1 method. This increases the skill level needed to do the gauntlet in certain scenarios, which I believe balances out the no prep needed. All cores will be untradeable.
