  1. I even tried something similar for Minecraft after seeing that this works for RS and it's been doing wonders for me for days! For some reason there was very little memory allocated for Minecraft Java edition even though I have quite a bit of memory in total, so I allocated more to Minecraft and it runs much smoother, loads chunks in faster and stuff! ?

    Alt acc?

"Tob" will be my HCIM or whatever that one-life mode will be called haha! Knowing that theater of blood is not safe on this server prompted me to make that account for it!

This is why you don't have people apply to become moderators.

I'd be much more in favor of a selection process, but I know a lot has to go into that. Like the current staff needs to be constantly taking notes regarding potential candidates, but you'd definitely notice the results I bet.

I would prefer a membership system to give slight perks in the sense of a slight XP increase or drop rate rather then items and rares and boxes to open. Obviously more added to membership not just those two points I stated.

People play RSPS for the speed of training and getting to where you want to be faster...most of us are grown up adults and don't have time as we work etc from old school players from 06 onwards. ?

For this reason in your second paragraph the ::store will have items that kids/teens/students can grind for with their extra time, but adults can donate to save us the time that we would be spending at work instead. Typical things that you'll find in any ::store like high-tier skilling supplies (i.e. rune bars, frost dragon bones, magic logs), gear that is not best-in-slot, cosmetics like partyhats and custom outfits, and then some variety of mystery boxes that have a relatively low value but could potentially yield some higher value items in the ::store.

I know that @David confirmed that there would be some crossing of "live chat" staff between here and Ikov since you don't need to know a lot of information about one server's specifics to assist people with payment methods. However, I also believe there's going to be a very similar structure to the ::store to allow those in live chat to be able to answer as many questions as possible for those that will be queuing up from both servers.

In the end, the most important factor is Ikov's success. If you know, as the owner, that your ::store didn't interfere with the #1 server... as the old saying goes: "Don't fix what ain't broke!"

  5. Who plays it? I played it on release and got insanely lucky in my first day getting like 8 SSR units free to play (got a couple double SSR pulls) and then I quit playing until a couple of days ago and got back into it. Not far enough yet to join a knighthood but if you have room in yours I'd love to join after I get past chapter 6 or whatever chapter it is that I need to finish

Right click your task bar at the bottom of your screen, click on task manager, head over to details and 'java' should be the top process unless something is running more resources, right click 'java' and find priority, put it on 'realtime' or 'high'. This may help you @Cox?

Thanks bro it definitely helps ?

Barely trusted them from the start, then they promote someone and 1 day later he mass bans the whole server LOL, a fresh start with a good server is needed

What??? Bro.... right there is a perfect example for why mods should be vetted so thoroughly before they pull something like that.

The most successful servers manage to avoid resets, it's that simple. Ensuring glitches/exploits/dupes aren't readily available to abuse for financial gain is one of the factors that determines stability of the game, its eco & customer/player base. A healthy economy keeps a steady stream of people trying to grind to achieve & therefore provides a higher retention rate from new players.

This is exactly why solid teams like the one we have here will not risk putting out a half-ass server at release just to draw in people. They are willing to make people antsy for that better experience and more stable server economy. I will wait as long as necessary if it means having a properly tested server with only very minor bugs at release!

Thanks for the welcome! It hurts me to say that. Forums have been a big part of my online experience, been using them for 13 years. I've been owner, admin, and mod on many different forums. It sucks to say they're a dying medium, but my joke of them being irrelevant isn't really true. If it were we wouldn't be here! Forums are still great ways to communicate, share, and discuss things. ?

@king Thank you for the warm welcome. ?

I hear you completely bro! It is a shame that they aren’t as active or appealing to the general population. That I can agree with! They are outmatched by things like Discord so it’s almost inefficient to go to the forums for any kind of active involvement when you can hop in a Discord and most likely get an immediate response or close to it. Anyway, really happy to have an experienced person like yourself with us and I hope you stick around for a while!

  10. I’m realizing more and more that there will be a desire for a skilling service right away because I’m sure those competitive individuals will want to get into making money on a main and learning the PvM/PvP ins and outs before others beat them to it, but they will also want to compete in the Ironman/elite or extreme Ironman leaderboards. I can see them reaching out to other people to skill really boring/click intensive skills for them while they PvM/PK on mains. It’s going to be really interesting to see what that first week is like. I know Sohan will be coming from Ikov to compete both for eco and for whatever difficult Ironman mode there is. You have to imagine there are more people with similar intentions!

  11. Server resets are entirely demotivating. It’s like being told your time and support means nothing, “just deal with it”. I have the utmost faith in David and Spooky as owners as well as the development team that seems to have a really good track record in the past with their respective communities, so I don’t believe you have anything to worry about here. The experience and talent going into this server is not typical for private servers these days, far above the standard!
