  1. I've seen that name before, but I've never played or heard of Atlas before coming to these forums, so I think I might have seen you on another RSPS. Anyway, welcome to the server and looking forward to seeing some quality content!

Actually, it's a mix of atlas & ikov.

Hot dam these are spicy??? Gimme dat purple heart!

  3. My dude if you open earlier than the server, I'd love to utilize your services for a signature if you'd be hard-pressed to do one for me. Anyway, I'll be checking back here to see when you're open for business!

  4. Anyone who came from Ikov knows that TOB is safe on there, but what are your opinions in regards to this server? At least on Ikov they had some other bosses outside of OSRS that posed a serious threat to an HCIM account, but for a strictly-OSRS server it might benefit from shifting that HCIM-killer to TOB as it is on OSRS.

This isn't in suggestions because I'm not suggesting it at all, and also at the end of the day they've probably decided one way or the other but it's not about that. I'm just curious about whether you personally would rather see TOB as safe or dangerous content for the HCIM grind in an RSPS.

Edit: I lean towards safe, but that's because I suck at that content lol

You are realy odd on commenting on posts, you don't make a whole lot of sense.

But is being a donator unique if everyone has it? Because lets be honest most people donate to get items and perks to help there accounts. I see no harm in a toggle system on custom donator icons....lets be truthful here. People play RSPS because they don't have the time to play OSRS due to it's XP rates etc. RSPS offer a replica of OSRS (this server promises that for example) so I feel that people should have the option to make it as much like OSRS as they wish.

Weird way to attack me personally instead of going right to the point, but that's alright. Get over it Ollie, you're not going to get your way here because let's face it, you don't sound like someone who will be eager to financially support the server or even support it on a fundamental, positive-vibe level. There are a variety of reasons for why someone would donate to an RSPS, and I happen to know that some do it just for that bright yellow lettering and the symbol next to their name. Whether this agrees with you or not is irrelevant unless you plan on funneling money into the pockets of the developers.

If you don't want to have a donor symbol anywhere on your client for whatever reason that is, don't donate and hide your yell and public chat.

Exactly, I just feel like people should have the option to turn on and off that is all. I like to have clean look on my chat box and not know if someone is a donator or not.

To be really honest, no I don't actually support being able to toggle donator status on and off. The point of someone having the status is to represent that they contributed in some way to the server. I don't understand why people are quick to strip them of a little cosmetic flair by suggesting you should just be able to toggle it off. You may not like to see it for whatever reasons you have, but the point is that it's a status of recognition by the server team for supporting their server and I highly doubt that they are going to be so happy to turn it off because you want it to look more like OSRS. Look at it more like a status of recognition/achievement and then understand why it seems a little counter-intuitive for the team that designed this system to turn around and offer an easy way for people to ignore it and take away even a small amount of incentive for someone to seek that status in the first place.

Imagine if you could just toggle off custom cosmetics or things like that with the press of a button. That really devalues the item because let's face it, people go for status things in Runescape and RSPS' in general to show some sort of uniqueness in their account.

If you want something to look exactly like OSRS and feel exactly like OSRS, then you're always going to be told to play OSRS.

Alright, so what kind of items are going to be in the shop? If not membership?

No worries, sounds good. You can toggle all ranks off except Mods?

David will probably answer this with way more specifics than I can provide, but I recommend checking out their other server "Ikov" and go to the "Store" tab to get an idea for what kind of items are typically offered in an RSPS store. Very rarely is there best-in-slot offered even in mature servers like Ikov and David has already made it clear that they don't plan to include game-breaking items such as those in their store. But, you usually find miscellaneous things like small amounts of skill supplies, average gear for PvMing, etc. that they may choose to release at a later date to not give an unfair advantage. Trust these guys, they know what they're doing. You don't build the #1 RSPS and then decide to tarnish your legacy with some cheap follow-up project. They've put a lot of money into this release and you can be sure that they aren't going to risk the success of it over the donation store.

Honestly it wouldn't even surprise me if they only allowed cosmetic purchases (like customs) to be available for the first 2 or 3 weeks to satisfy those gamblers that don't want to grind PvM for coin and just wanna get started day 1 on being eco holders. I'm sure they know ways to generate money to maintain the server while also satisfying those hardcore competitive grinders that want an even playing field for the first 2 weeks of grinding for exp and loot. Cheers!

  8. I mainly watch YouTube videos these days since stuff is usually just in the background, but some shows I have watched that are pretty good are:

Breaking Bad (if you haven't seen it already)

Better Call Saul (pretty decent drama spin-off of Breaking Bad)

Rick n Morty of course lol

    Final Space

If you look at other servers that have lasted for about a year with higher player count you'll notice that almost all sections have 2-3 pages or more. The problem is that people don't always comment on the guide that they are using or like, meaning that a really detailed and structured guide can be at page 7. With more sections, we will ensure that it is easier to find guides for those that are looking after them. Isn't that the whole point of having sub-categories?

True, but I came from the owners' other server and it's the same dealio there and it's perfectly fine (and probably has more content since it's a combination of OSRS and pre-EOC).

Sometimes when you add too many sub-categories people start to avoid forums because you get lost down a rabbit hole. No one wants to search through the PVM section to find an ice demon guide and turns out they posted it in video guides so now you gotta go through there too, you know what I mean? It's better if it's just PVM, skilling, miscellaneous. If you're going for a price guide then you know it's not gonna be PVM or skilling for example. If you're going for the clue scroll guide you know it won't be PVM or skilling, etc.

  10. Personally I find it easier with the 2 specific sub-categories and the main category that could house the other more miscellaneous guides. At least I know for sure if I'm looking for a skill guide then I'll find it and a PVM guide I'll find it and all else will be under the general guide category. I can't imagine that there will be such a crazy amount of guides that we will need to branch out.

I'd love to see ALL guides come with some kind of video component but of course I wouldn't ask that to be a requirement because not everybody has the appropriate set-up to do that.

I heavily support keeping the appropriate guides highlighted and pinned like the clue scroll guide when it comes out, raids guides, those kind of common ones because we know that people are going to be going for those the most! ?

I've been playing Runescape for about 14 years, I've never liked grinding out a game as quick as possible I always like to go at my own pace, I love a grind and a small tight community and can't wait to get this server going!

I remember watching a YouTube video a week or 2 ago about why people always come back to Runescape and it's not about it being just another game you could play, but it offers so many different pathways to enjoyable gameplay. You can literally create whatever grind you want, be it weird or quirky, and you can pursue that goal while someone else plays the game entirely different to you. Idk, I just love that variability!

Same here, started RS in 2004. Was in 3rd or 4th grade. Was maxed by like 2009. Started OSRS the day it released and got burnt out in 6 months. Maxed in OSRS in 2017.

Kudos to you being able to max on both of the main game modes! That's a darn good achievement

Gta massively needs an update, sick of the same game with limited proper content. I know they brought out the casino ect but I just feel with these next gen consoles, they can really push for it in terms of graphics ect. I think that one will be the next I buy (apart from Fifa, forza & cod ofc) the three pillars of my console gaming career. The thing is, as i'm getting older, i'm tending to go on consoles less and less and have migrated to using the computer more with games such as Football Manager 2020 & poker

I can't believe GTA has been riding high on the same game for 8 years. When the heck is the next installment gonna come out? lol

I've been on and off for a couple years now. Once you reach a certain point in the game, things begin to get stale.

Ye, I can't tell you how many times I've made a new account just for the "fresh" feeling of the beginner grind, but inevitably it grinds to a halt when you're killing dragon or giants for 16 hours a day passively only to get 1 decent rune a week lmao, no thanks

In the ideal world id love both, and will probably invest in both once I get back to norm after lockdown. I love forza for xbox as one of its main titles.

The spiderman edit of the console looks good you know, not looked at the new spiderman trailers tho, played the old ones briefly

I love Forza and I actually played the last Spiderman game and had sooooo much fun with it. Spiderman GTA version pretty much lol

Watched the live event and I'm honestly really excited for the console. I'll be getting both when they release, but I mostly stick to PlayStation.

I'm pretty excited to see more next gen gameplay. One game I'm so amped for (although a little apprehensive of after Bethesda's up and down track record lately) is Elder Scrolls VI. I really hope I can play it on PC but who knows what kind of exclusivity looms in the near future. As consoles get more expensive, I can imagine that the money they have to offer developers for exclusive access goes up and up too. Also, it seems that it always comes down to the quality of the exclusives in the console wars. Better to have both if you can get em!

  16. Some of you have been mentioning your history with Runescape in your intros and I'm curious where a lot of you are at in regards to your experience with Runescape. I started playing Runescape in 2004 when I just started middle school, and by the time I was in grade 10 or 11 I fell away from it until around first year of college. By the middle of my second year of college I got banned on all of my accounts for being involved with Dragondyce and lost billions of GP, many phats and the rest of my motivation to play that game in any capacity. At release of OSRS I played for the hype for a few days but promptly quit and didn't return to RS except in RSPS.

Anyway, what does your Runescape journey look like?

Oh dam I just saw this, wow we probably started within a month or two of each other lol! I know that a lot of long-time players steadily quit as things become stagnant so I can understand if you quit already

Its not to do with the base. David mentioned on discord it was just because people would hoard them, he mentioned about releasing them as prizes from competitions in game, which I kind of like the feel of.

I like the sound of that as well! Would be much more interested playing a server event for the chance to make any 1 or 2 character name I wanted for 1 time only. Hell ya!

We have off-topic specific categories already, you're right. We do not have an off-topic general chat which is seen in most forums where people talk about completely unrelated -but not spam- topics. This can range from help with homework to discussions on current world issues, and this has not yet been implemented on the forums, but I have a hope that it will be if more activity is seen closer to release.
